After being charged with sexual battery and aggravated assault and battery earlier this week, Cash Money Records president Mack Maine turned himself over to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on Friday, September 20. After completing a walkthrough, the 31-year-old rap star was released on $9,000 bail.
The New Orleans rapper was charged with two felony criminal charges after he allegedly grabbed the right breast of a fan named Rachel Reed after she and another female companion boarded his assigned “Amerika’s Most Wanted” tour bus on August 22 upon the MC’s invitation. When the two ladies tried to get off the bus, Maine “held the door shut.”
When the pair got a second chance at getting down from the vehicle, Reed’s friend Cailey Maddox tried to descend the steps of the bus. When she turned back to get Reed, she was instead punched on the face by the Young Money Entertainment label artist. He was said breaking her jaw and knocking her down.
Maine’s legal predicament came just within a week away of his record label’s biggest release this year, that of Toronto rap superstar Drake’s new album “Nothing Was the Same”, set to come out on Tuesday, September 24. Drake is on a promo blitz for his new studio set, recently appearing on such hit TV talk shows as “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”
